Using
the Discussion Boards
This page will provide you with the information you need to join and use
the Discussion Boards.
Work through the topics below by clicking on the following links.
1. Using the Discussion Boards for the First Time
Steps:
-
Click on the
Join A Class link under Students on the right hand side.

You will be
asked to enter a Class Key. Enter the following:
-
You need to
create a Username and Password.
TIP:
Choose something that you will remember easily! Write it down somewhere!

Fill in your
First and Last name only!
IMPORTANT:
Please do not put nicknames - I will delete your profile if I don't know
who you are!

Click on
Finish Registration.
-
You will
then be taken to a page where you will enter the username and password
you just created.

You are now
logged into the Classroom Area.
-
Click on
Conferencing to see the topics.

2. Posting a Message
Steps
-
Click on the
Introduction Conference.
-
Click on 'Post
New Message to "Introduction"'
-
Post a test
message with the following
information. Use your full name as the subject line.
a) What is
your favorite movie?
b) Where did you spend most of your time over the Winter Break?
c) What is your favorite store?

3. Replying to a Message
Steps:
-
Click on the
Reply link under the message you wish to reply to.
-
Say
something nice about that person!
-
Click the
Post Message button.

4. Changing between Topics
-
Click on the
Conferencing link on the left hand side to see all topics.

Choose the
topic you want.

5. Logging Out
It is
important that you log out when you are finished using the Discussion
Boards.
Click the
Log Out link at the bottom left side of the screen.

6. Logging In
Again
Steps:
-
Click on the
Discussion Board link to the left of this page.
-
Enter your
username and password.
-
Click Log
In.
